A weekend back to the Forties.
This weekend we attended the Festival of The Forties,Living History weekend in Cambridgeshire near March, and we also net up with the guys from the Veterans' Foundation.
The weekend is organised by Matt Page and his Family and friends, and as alway it is a pleasure to be a part of it.
I have been with this event from its start 6 years ago and seen it grow and grow. Each year it has got bigger and better and this is down to the way the event is run,the friendliness of the volunteers who help organise and run the event. Matt and his crew take the time to listen to everyone visiting the event from re-enactors .stall holders to the General public to make improvements every year.
Normally in previous years I have photographed this event but this year I put the camera down and brought along my 2 Harris Hawks. Vanessa Shelton, Ray Gymer also put on display 2 more Harris Hawks an American Kestrel and a Saker Falcon. To add to this thanks to Elaine & Micheal Schaschke we had also 1 more Harris Hawk,a Goshawk, a Gyrfalcon, Dark Brested Barn Owl and Indian Eagle Owl. Hidden at the back of our Marquee fast asleep most of the weekend, can't say I blame the Little owlet in the heat was Sally Dickinson's 5 week old Indian Eagle Owl.
Special thanks To Iain Bowyer for all his help since Thursday helping me to get set up and a special thanks from me Jack Sally and Tommy for the Exercise stew, for that alone you can come again.
Thanks to Jack Dover for helping out with the Little display we manage to do on Sunday its a shame we could not do more but it was just to hot for the birds and I know everyone understood that.
One more thank you to my son Tommy for helping dismantle everything on Sunday the extra pair of hands made a difference.
We wish to thank everyone for there lovely comments about our birds and we hope you all enjoyed the weekend and the experience you had when you visited our muze. I did not get the chance to do much photography this weekend but the odd few I did manage to get on my phone showed me how much people enjoyed our presence.
We will be back next year and we are looking forward to doing it all again so put this date below in you diaries this is an event not to miss.
To finish up here is a little video I put together with a few of my photos and some footage I did on my phone of the BBMF Spitfire display at the weekend.
Once again it can't be said enough Matt Page Family and Friends another great event thank you for all your hard work to make this event what it is Spitfire Avian Pest Control Ltd will always support you with this event.
